01 / WHAT WE CAN WORK ON

Understand it.
Then put it to work.

Build dependable methods

Make sense of the steps before trying to remember them.

  • Number, algebra and graphs
  • Coordinate geometry and geometry
  • Mensuration and trigonometry

Apply and explain your working

Practise selecting a method, communicating the solution and checking whether the answer makes sense.

  • Transformations and vectors
  • Probability and statistics
  • Paper 1 non-calculator and Paper 2 calculator practice

02 / A SMALL EXAMPLE

See the reasoning.
Have a go yourself.

Original learning examples by Haseeb. These are not official exam questions.

Keep both sides balanced

Learning outcome: solve a linear equation and check the solution. Solve 3x + 5 = 20.

Your turn: solve 4x − 3 = 17 and check your answer.

Read the worked solution
  1. Subtract 5 from both sides: 3x = 15.
  2. Divide both sides by 3: x = 5.
  3. Check by substitution: 3 × 5 + 5 = 20. The solution satisfies the original equation.
Reveal practice answer

Add 3 to get 4x = 20, then divide by 4: x = 5. Check: 4 × 5 − 3 = 17.

03 / HOW WE’LL LEARN

A starting point.
A clear next step.

Start with a question that reveals your current understanding, then work through a suitable method. Try a related problem independently and review your working, discussing errors and when to choose a different approach.

04 / BEFORE WE START

Your questions,
answered.
